Default Olympus C5050, Canon G3 or Minolta Dimage 7i?

Hi,

I need some help deciding which camera to buy :?: , this will be my 1st digicam.

I wan't a camera with lots of features to learn, so I won't have to upgrade for a year or 2.

Which of the 3 has the best images/features?

Thanks for the help.

The Olympus C5050 would be my choice. It has great optics for low light conditions, assist light, 5mp, movie mode, swivel lcd panel, etc. Read Steve's review to see how impressed he was with the C5050.

Thx for the reply gibsonpd3620,

What about the noise i hear mentioned in certain reviews, is it serious?

I was originaly going to get the Canon G3, but spending nearly 600 I thought i'd not rush into buying without the thoughts of other photographers.

I want unbiased opinions, c'mon ppl, help me out plz!

Thanks.

I have the dimage 7Hi. Love it to death. You have more available contol with it. Also uses CF cards and AA batteries. 7x Z00m and great lenses. ALso has threaded lense for filters unlike nikkon. Has hot shoe for external flash support too and 7Hi has pc sync.

No such thing. Everyone has their own bias. I've yet to meet a human being who doesn't have a bias.

Anyway, "unbiased opinion" is an oxymoron.

I'm sure you'll like your Olympus. I have a Canon G2 and I like it. For the 99.9% of us mere mortals, I reckon we'd be deliriously happy with any of these digicams, and we can leave the arguments about the finer technical points to the professionals (and I do respect the professionals). It's like buying a set of new golf clubs - there's some great new technology, but the weak point in my case is the bloke holding the club (sigh).

The Oly 5050 uses CF, xd picture and smart media. It also uses aa batteries. There are none of these cameras I would return if someone gave them to me.
