Hi,
I've never had a digital camera, so I dont know how it works.
Can I just take the memory stick in to the photo place and have the pictures printed from there?
I dont want to keep the pictures on my computer because I like to keep them in a book.

Thanks

Yes you can take the memory sitck(tm sony), or compact flash card to many stores like Costco so you can use their kosik to have prints made, and even write the images you select to a CD. If you don't want them stored on your PC.

Generally you want the original image file stored somewhere, as the CF card would normally get wiped so it can be reused to take more images.

Yes, you can take your memory card into many places. I would recomend cutting the photos you want onto a CD instead of doing that. Then you can select the photos you want and edit them at leasure instead of selecting them while someone is waiting behind you in line holding a squalling brat that is throwing up on you. I think a CD is better than just writing them out to a memory card because if they are good enough to print, they are good enough to keep an extra copy.

You can also get your prints done from your computer. You can upload them to a printing service and then they will send them to you or some services will print them up at a local store and you can go pick up the prints.

mail order printing services:
ofoto.com
shutterfly.com

pickup or mail order printing:
ritzpics.com

There are other places as well.

I'm assuming it's the same in the states and what not, but you should look into the equipment that is being used to process your digital photos. Is it a high end laser printer or is a true photo printer -->
