Default Updated, When?

When is the time of year that most digital cams get updated? i hear it's in this and the next month..is this true?

There do tend to be a lot of announcements around this time.

The reason is that many manufactures like to time their launch with a major event and two of the big events are happening in January and February.

The evens are the PMA and the Consumer Electronics Show (which I miss going to so easily when we lived in Vegas).

Companies may make announcements then, but they may release the product later in the year. If you head to the following website, they have a timeline of when various camera models were announced...from the timeline you can see that there's no real specific time of year, that it's done all year round and even in the summer:

Good observation -

The marketing people determine the launch and press release, then the engineers and QA often determine the actual availability after the announcement.
