Canon S30...

RAW format
Compact Flash type 1 & 2
a LOT of manual control
And so much more...

However if you just want to point & shoot the P7 suits you.

I agree with Gibbie, go with the Canon...the Sony cameras still use propietary memory sticks, which means you can't use them with other brands..Blessings, Johnny

Well, if you own other devices that use memory cards that's a problem, but there are certain MP3 players that once you use a memory card with it you can't use it in your camera anymore unless you use a special program to recover it.

Also, I prefer looking at the camera's abilities, capabilities, and lens rather than the type of memory card it uses.

I've owned three digital cameras, and each uses a different type of memory card (CF, MMC, SM)...the type of memory card the camera uses was a non-issue to me, and I only concerned myself with the type of memory card when I went to buy my first one (that didn't come with the camera).

Hi Mike, you are certainly entitled to your opinion, I still contend that compactflash and smartmedia are re-useable in a host of different cameras/mp3 players, etc, but the Sony memory stick only works with Sony products. This scenario reminds me of the AOL vs all other ISP's...while AOL is the largest ISP, they speak a different language than all the rest, and several of my AOL (amateur's on line) friends can't download most of my attachments, but everyone else can...Blessings, Johnny

It's not my opinion, it's technological fact...in some MP3 players once you use a card in it they will write special code to the card...once done if you put your card in the camera the camera will say the card is corrupt. You have to use an external card reader (or the MP3 player with special software) to restore the card so it's usable again in the camera.

I know of someone who has tried all those tricks and programs, and nothing will restore his 128 meg card so he can use it in the camera again, it only works in his MP3 player. Just lucky for him that prices are reduced on SM cards right now so he can replace the one for his camera.

Default What's concerning me it's the photo quality rather than the

memory.
Do you have an opinion about that issue ?
Thank you for your help
