Default digicam to video

i have an olympus 5050 with video out; has anyone tried to record video from a digicam directly to vhs? will it record what i see on the screen?

It will record what you see on the viewfinder, with all information, etc. You can see a neat effect of it when I pointed it at the TV, and took a picture with another camera:

As it says:

"Video Feedback of C-700 hooked up to TV, taken with JamCam"

In other words, I used the C-700 pointed at the TV, but couldn't take a picture with it because the viewfinder "blacks out" when you press the shutter button, so I pointed at the TV with the C-700 and took the picture with my JamCam.

Someone suggested I could have used a videotape to tape the effect, and then play the tape back and used the C-700 to take the picture of that...but the inexpensive JamCam did a good enough job.
