Any particular reason geriatric? Has KCan attempted this as well?

No I haven`t tried it . The trigger voltage derives from the trigger capacitor. This itself derives from a potential division of the main storage capacitor. this trigger charge has to be a certain power so that when it is discharged thru the primary of the trigger transformer it has to induce a certain voltage in the secondary to fire the flash thru the tube. Lowering this power may prevent the flash from firing. I think.
