Default little cool image

I have tried to attach an image to my profile, but to no avail.I went about it through posting an image on pbase. How do i go about doing this, and if dozens of people have already asked, where do i find out?
By the way, the image i tried with, at 80X60 is still 12.5K in jpeg format. How do you get it smaller?

Geof - I had the same problem. I'm just now having another try. If it works I'll post a description of what I did.

I've got it. I (and perhaps you) had been using the URL of the full Pbase page where the image was. When you see your image at Pbase, right click on it and then click on PROPERTIES. It will disclose the URL of the little image. Use that URL.

I did mine and it took some doing to get my photo down to 6K, but you can if you use an editor.

I used Pbase as well and when you specifiy one image on pbase you have to do it as such:

www.pbase.com/username/image3477658.jpg

that format will let ypou use a single pic off of pbase for your photo. If you have any confusion about pbase read the first page on pbase. thats where I got the info.

AS far as getting your photo to 6K, well it wasnt easy but you can do it !

good luck !

I didn't have any problem, but it makes my nose look out of proportion and shiny!

Geof

I remember in another discussion that pbase does not allow photo sharing from their web site.

Geof - Gibson's right. My supposed solution doesn't work, at least not with Pbase. So I've deleted the image from Pbase.

It seemed to work at one point, but I think that was because I'd just been logged on the Pbase directly, and the picture file was somewhere among my temporary Internet files.

It must be a matter of storing the image at a site that does allow linking. I tried it with Sony Image Staion and with Netsnapshot too - and it turned out that they don't allow it either.

My guess is that if you right click on somebody else's Avatar image, Properties will disclose what site their image IS stored at, so using the same site may be the answer.
