Default DVD Players

Does anyone know of a DVD player that can read and play back JPEGS to a normal telly, in particular the UK.

This would save converting the JPEGS to VCDs etc.

When I bought my DVD player 10 mths ago I couldn't find a DVD player for Jpegs. I look now and there are plenty. So I'll rephrase the question.

VCD is very low res, does viewing pics as Jpegs via the DVD/telly give better resolution?

I didn't realise this but my Son's cheapo DVD player is Kodak picture CD compatible so I tried my Jpeg CD and it works.

Trouble is the quality is much worse then VCD.

I keep answering my own questions

Gibson, how do you find the image quality - pretty dismal I thought, even worse than VCD.

There's a top end Panasonic DVD I'm told can accept Smartmedia. Guess that's what you're after. The only reason why quality might be poor, is if it's connected via rf loop through or running composite video, instead of RGB via the SCART (they don't have them in the States). I've run some 6Mpix JPEGS on XGA plasma and they are HD!

The image quality on my sony was not very good. But if you are sending to photos to people who do not have computers, it is better than nothing.

Apex AD-1100W $79 at Wal-Mart. Makes great CD-R slideshows on my big screen TV.

My Son's Mica plays em. I bought it for his birthday from Sainsbury's for 70.

Does all the other things brilliantly.

Tried on my Pioneer 444 - buggerations, it doesn't. Ah well VCDs look better anyhow, just inconvenient to make.
