Default Advice Needed

Hi all.

Near to the end of the month I'm going to the mountain and snow and I need to know if is any advice to take care of tje camera.

It's going to be very cold, under zero celcius at night an 1 or 2 degrees celcius at day.

It's any posibility to broke the camera in that conditions? Any advice to condensation?

Thanks!

Maybe u can use those small pockets with water absorbing grains to keep near ur camera.
The performance of ur batteries will probably decrease a lot in subzero temperatures. May seem that they are malfunctioning but they will get back to normal when the temperature gets higher.

Maybe this link is of some use too.

Thats all i know, enjoy ur stay in the mountains.

Dutch,
When I was station in Europe in the 80's, used to ski with the orginal video camera, with the portable VHS deck in backpack. Sometime around 10f. Lens fog up going into lodge. Never slept outdoors, but used it about 6 or 7 seasons. think itsstuck in a closet now, but was working great last time used, about 1992. alot more moving parts with deck.
Hope this helps,
Gary

Default 3 suggestions:

Hi, Jedi;

1) Get an external battery pack, or make one. Then, keep it in your pocket for warmth.

2) Put the camera & lens in a plastic bag, sealed, when going in or oout of the cold, to avoid condensation in the camera & lens.

3) Wear the camera on a neckstrap under your coat.

I used to live in Minnesota, and took pix at 20 below zero, farenheit. Don't hold bare tripod legs with a bare hand!!!!
