Hi,

Will AS have an advantage over IS lens based systems for long telephoto shots:?. I am sure AS has an advantage over the IS lens based systems in low light.

Can the saaavys explain where the AS will have its edge over the IS system.

VIvek

P.S Yeah having AS will cut down lens cost by say 50% atleast. But are there enough high quality lenses like the Canon for example has.:? And its pretty clear that an AS system with good quality, say something like a rebel with AS is on the cards from KM pretty soon. Just thought we can discuss about the areas where AS will have prove its value.

I don't quite follow - did you mean to say "something like a rebel with AS is on the cards from canon"? There is already the 5D, which is KMs equivalent of a drebel, and has AS...

As for the original question, I don't know the relative merits of lens based IS and body based AS, other than the obvious that if you have it in the body, then you get the benefit from all of your lenses. Also, I do get the impression KM have a decent range of nice lenses.
