Depends on your camera and if you have a tripod. I am just learning the art and i find if i slide my fuji 3800 to "nightmode" and try to hold the camera realllllllllllly still it takes a fantastic photo ... still a tad blurred though.

With a tripod it's supurb.

For me...it's:

- Tripod
- Full Manual Aperture & Shutter control mode
- ISO100
- Manual WB
- Sometimes self-timer
- Noise Reduction


Like Alfisti said, it depends on your camera.

ISO 100, tripod and shutter release idealy. But as I found with the attached you can prop the camera and use an 8 second exposure.

Belucky,

Try the slow shutter speeds of 1/8 down to 1 and maybe 2 seconds as the aperture will need to stay open longer for low light shots.
