Default Help me!! taking pics for portfolio

Hey people, i am a newbie here. i am making my design portfolio . i tried to take some pictures of my projects last night but those boards with vellum/floor plans/ tracing paper didnt show up nicely. i barely can see the lightweight. what should i do??? i was going to photo copy the board but it's too huge . what kind of lighting or settings of the camerca i can play use so the lightweight of the floor plans will show up nicely?? i am using the Minolta D7i. Thanks

I use a Fuji S602 and I use a tripod and program mode no flash. With good room lighting I get great results. The camera will take great well-lit photos of still subjects. The key is No Flash.

Not sure what you mean by "the lightweight".

Are these line drawings, e.g., everything black/white with no middle gray? If that is the case, use your photo editor and ding about with the brightness and contrast settings. Contrast to near 100% and birightness so the right bits show up black.

If you are using auto exposure, switch to manual and experiment. Opening up something like a stop or two from the values picked by the auto settings is likely to produce the best results. Experiment - one of the really nice things about digital is experiments are almost free.
