Default down to 3 choices

:?: am down to three choices in 2mp camera. Will use mostly for family vacations, not much on picture taking overall. These are the three choices: Kodak easyshare DX4230 with dock, Canon A40 or sony cybershot DSc-p31 with recharger. Any other suggestions i would apprecieate your expertise.

Can only comment on the canon A40. Terrific, easy to use camera which produces fabulous photos. Software's fine and accessories are good, too: Wide angle & Teleconverters, marine housing, etc. 5X7's look beautiful and 8X10's are surprisingly good.

The A40 and P31 have been replaced by up to date models.

I think the A70 replaces the A40. But the A70 is a 3.0 MP camera, and will be much more expensive than the A40. The A40 *was* selling in most places for $250. If you can pick it up for closer to $200, it would be an even better buy than it already is.

You didn't mention price constraints when you asked for suggestions. For a 2MP camera on family vacations, I would recommend a refurbished Olympus C-2100. It'll take sharp, properly exposed pics, gives you a GREAT zoom range, and it's easy enough for my 10-year old daughter to use.
