I have been looking at B&H and Ritz Camera for buying my camera. I see Abes of Maine is cheaper than both of them. They are rated high. Has anyone purchased from them? Any issues?

I haven't purchased from personally but a friend of mine did. He received his order pretty quickly and there was no problems with the order.

I purchased a $1000+ 3-chip CCD Camcorder from them a couple of years back.

They really put the heat on you to buy accessories. They will tell you all kinds of things to try to push other (usually "no name" accessories) like "You've just got to have a spare battery, lens adaptor and etc. etc. to make your camera more useful.

Simply resist the temptation to load up with a bunch of over-priced add-ons and insist that you want the camera first, and then will analyze what else you need.

I found my camera was delivered promptly and consisted of the exact kit everyone else was selling for about 10% more.

I didn't have any return issues so I can't address customer service.

I would buy from them again.

I usually get camera and two extra batteries and memory sticks. I will check out their pricing on accessories.

I have bought from B&H for over 20 years, never had a problem. I bought once from Abe's (back when they were actually in Maine) and it took them 2 weeks to ship a lens from one end of the state to the other. I am sure things have changed and it really iswhere you feel comfortable ordering from.

I have never ordered from either. That is why I am asking. $70 cheaper on DMC-FZ30 will pay for a few batteries.

I e-mailed them with a question. They responded back no sales person was available and to call them. I also read plenty of reviews on their sales tactics. I decided B&H Photo Video would get my business.
