My Sony DSC-W50 is fairly new, looking at the lens it looks perfectly clear, but when i hold it under direct light i can see tiny specs all over the lens (they almost look like water marks or bubbles). I don't see how they could have got there as i have never used my camera in wet or dirty conditions, nor have i had it long!

Could it be possible its a defective lens? or is this normal? it doesnt seem to be noticible in photos but I want my pictures to look their best!

well, do they wipe off? get a piece of lens paper and give it a wipe. Use some lens cleaner as well, or some alchohol if you must. That will get off anything such as dust, watermarks, etc.

i will continue to use it for now seeing it doesnt look like it effects the picture at all. i noticed them about a week ago, hopefully they dont do any damage. When i do get around to cleaning it, if they dont come off ill assume its defective.

Thanks!

Yesterday i was using it under florescent lighting and it seemed to put little lit up circles on the walls! it almost looks like reflections but i couldnt see where they would be coming from... plus they were only in some of the pictures...

Is it ok if i use a glasses lens cloth on the lens?
