Default Storage Media

I had a question asked of Me I could not answer.
(While many would say this is common)

Storage Media (I have a Sony 707 so I have Memory Sticks)

If the Storage Media in question is taken out and left out will the images/data stored on the card be lost? While not in hours, or days, is there a time frame that the information would be lost?

The only thing you need to worry about is electro magnetic fields (generated by electric motors) or static electricity.

Not that this answers the question at all but I returned from a job in Arizona and promptly washed my slacks with a 32 Mb Compact Flash "Lexar" in the pocket.

Luckily I found it before it hit the dryer, I assumed it was dead but after allowing it to dry for a couple days I retrieved all the images and have been using the card ever since.

I also have a good Timex story but I'll wait until they launch steves-digiwatches.com

A much happier story than the time my sons birthday party shots vanished into thin "Compact Flash" air.

You are probably right that it was "lucky" you saved it from the drier. I wouldn't be surprised if high heat will kill a memory stick (or most digital camera media.)
