I got a d100 and i was shooting outdoors the other day. I saw this nice spot when the sun was setting and took some pictures of it. There were some pink on the photos though some were ok. Why does this happen? Is this normal when shooting directly at sunlight? I hope its not my camera or my lens.....

This could be perfectly normal for you camera. If set to auto white balance and exposute, the camera is reading the brightest area as white, while there may be a bit of color cast to it. This cast then shows up as the complement color in some areas. Having that much area of a picture overexposed is likely to create color problems with any camera. For better information about yours, try asking in the Nikon DSLR forum.
