sigh... i just found a dead pixel on my 1.8 y/o olympus C765(4MP 10x zoom) digital camera. Well.. i can do some photoshop but.. i'm too lazy since i gotta wash baby bottles too.

The dead pixel appears on my monitor(my monitor has no dead pixel). i didn't notice if it's on camera's lcd since it's too small to spot.

Anyway, will one dead pixel(white) appear on 4x6 or larger printouts from places likeBestbuy?

On that size print, I don't think you will notice one stuck pixel, unless possibly it has a lot of contrast with its surroundings.

Some cameras, and I think yours may be one, remap their sensor monthly, and compensate for bad pixels. If you wait a couple weeks, it may go away. Alternatively, you can reset the date/time to just before the endo of month, then wait a bit for the remap to occur. Reset back to proper date/time, and you should be good to go.

You should probably check in the Olympus forum for correct information, as my memory is not as reliable as it once was.

Your camera has a built in function in the menus that checks the CCD for bad pixels and maps them out (it will automatically replace them with values interpolated from adjacent pixels when you take photos).

Look for the Pixel Mapping menu choice in your setup menu.

Thank you so much VT and Jim.
