Default Help please. Nikon coolpix 2500 vs Kodak dx3700

I'm a newbie to all of this digital imaging stuff.. but I'm about to purchase a digital camera and I was hoping for a second opinion:

Nikon coolpix 2500 or Kodak dx3700?

How I would use it: I would probably just use it take normal pictures when I go out with friends. I'm 17, so I dont need anything professional. I'm willing to spend up to 350 but i prefer something under 300.
I was just wondering if the Coolpix2500 is a reliable camera that takes sharp images, because it seems like they're advertising it a lot and that they need to because it kinda sucks? I denno... So please any opinions and suggestions would be useful! THANKS.

The Nikon has a 3x optical zoom and very good reviews. The Kodak has only a digital zoom, you will learn real fast that if you do not have an optical zoom you will be talking about your next camera faster than you think.

Between those two deffinetly get the Nikon. Mush better quality and style. The Kodak feels very chinsy. Also check out the Fuji line. The FinePix 2600 has gotten great reviews. Good Luck.
