Hi Everyone,

This is a great website. I've gleaned a lot of information pertaining to photography and using my relatively new Canon S2.

One topic that I haven't seen discussed, but could very well have missed, is relating to comparison between superfine and fine compression at the highest level of resolution. Could someone please address the main difference? I'll most likely never print photos bigger than 5x7.

Thanks!

I would never compromise on quality. Since memory cards are so cheap there is no reason to.

Would be terrible to take a decent pic and have it ruined by jpeg artifacts due to the higher compression.

Remember jpeg throws away information to compress the files so always use the highest quality settings to retain as much information as possible.
