Default Coolpix 5000 underwater housing

Want to purchase a Nikon coolpix 5000 for vacations and general use, which will include snorkling, and possibly some diving.

Problem: Can't afford the underwater housing!! The one I saw (Ikelite) is twice the price of the camera.

Does anyone know of a cheaper case, or a place I could find it used?

Or perhaps I could get a different camera of similar quality that has a cheaper case available.

Thanks

The only cheaper housing I know of is a "pouch style" that really is a bit scary for taking such an expensive camera underwater. Adorama sells them on ebay.

There are, of course, better housings which may come with dome ports, etc . from Subal and Light & Motion.

Check out www.fantasea.com
They have an underwater housing for the Nikon coolpix 4300 and a list of retailers on the website.

www.bhphotovideo.com has an underwater housing for the Canon A70 for $200.00.

I know these are different cameras but these are the only inexpensive options I am aware of. I have been checking on underwater housings for my husband and if I come across anything else, I will post it.
Check out www.wetpixel.com

Sea & Sea makes a housing for the Nikon 5000, but I have no idea how much it costs.
