When I travel, it doesn't take much time before my card is full.

I don't want to bring a laptop. I don't have any, it's big to travel with and it's expensive.

Someone told me that the Ipod could be connected dirrectly to my camera.

But I have to buy a Ipod over 10 Gig, plus an adaptor, so not cheap at the end.

I could also go somewhere and make dvd with my pictures, but sometimes it's difficult to find such place in some countries.

So!

Anyone has a good suggestion???

Umm, well there will be a certain amount of money to be paid whatever you go for.

However have a look at http://www.hyperdrive.com/shop/produ...?products_id=1

It costs $150 then just add a 2.5in hard drive of your choice and away you go ..

Though really assuming you are not shooting 20 or 30 gigs of photos when you travel a couple of extra xD cards might be cheaper..

I would recommend buying a few extra cards... it will probably be cheaper than the Ipod (2GB cards don't cost much anymore)

Can you even get 2gb xD cards?

I wonder what they would cost ? xD cards seem to be even more expensive than Memory sticks for Sony cameras..

Even newegg.com doesn't currently sell them..

I'm really not sure, I haven't bought XD cards before... I assumed they would be simlar to SD but evidently not.

If they are hard to find, there are camera storage devices with 20-40GB harddrives for around $350.

First link for the Olympus, second for the Fuji, both XD cards are basically the same, the Fuji is a little more, why :-?. They are both 1 Gig cards.

So, a 1gb xD card costs over $50.

If the original poster finds him/herself needing to use more than 3 x1gbcards it would be cheaper to buy the hyperdrive and a 20gb hard drive..

I suppose is depends on if they are shooting RAW or jpeg and of course the megapixels of the camera.

Just using a Sony H1 (5mp) I took 189 pictures, in just 4 hours when I visited Edinburgh for a half day.

For a weeks holiday I would for sure have wanted 5 or 6 gigs storage in total ..

I had started a post in the "Flash Memory" forum here on this site which has not had any responses to it. They make small portable media players with 20 gb hard drives that cost between $250 and $400. They play mp3 and videos, have a usb port to transfer photos directly from the camera or camcorder without a PC, and some even have card readers. This would be the way to go if you needed an mp3 player.

I am waiting to see if anyone has had any luck with them.
