hello all

first post, but first would like to say how great the reviews are on here.

i am about to buy my first entry level dslr.

i had my heart set on the pentax ist-dl, until i found out about the max images that can be captured during burst mode. i want to shoot some motorbike action so its going to be a nikon d50 now.

anyway here's my question, when is the d50 due a replacement/upgrade/makeover

and links to such info would be greately appreciated.

thanks john

Not any time soon. The D50 is not quite one year old, and the life cycle for Nikon bodies is roughly 18-24 months. A D70s replacement is probably the next new Nikon body.

There will always be new products. By waiting, you're missing out on photo opportunities. The D50 is a great value, and a great camera that will serve you well for many years to come.

Thanks RJ for the reply, i know its the camera for me, just wondered if a newer version was due out which would push the price of the d50 down even further.

thanks john
