Default Airline Travel / Security scanning of Digi Cam and CF's

Does the increased scanning and airport security measures have any effect on my digital camera or compactflash cards?

I just flew a couple of weeks past and the scanning systems had no effect on my camera or media.

No problems that I've heard of, but be sure to carry your camera aboard. The new luggage scanners might be a problem. Also, cameras are pretty suseptible to theft from your luggage.

I had an interesting thing happen traveling in Canada. They swabbed my camera and tested it for explosives. The dreaded camera bomb
