I am getting a nikon d50 this friday. i am also getting a 70-300 APO (Sigma) and was wondering if anyone can enlighten me on to why this one is cheaper http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search

than this one http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search

should i get the cheaper one, or is the a reason to spend the 30 dollars more for the more expensive?

Thanks in advance

The more expensive one is of the DG series, which at least theoretically does more to eliminate chromatic aberation.

I would suggest looking for a review before buying.

Sigma makes good lenses, but so do other "off" brands like Tamron and Tokina. None of these companies (and that includes Nikon itself) make the best lens for all sitautions. You have to choose on a focal lenght by focal lenght basis.
