Default sony f717 or fuji finepix S602

hi,

I'm currently owning a mavica fd88 and i am thinking of purchasing a new digital camera. I'm in doubt between the fuji finepix s602 and the sony f717. My hobby is going to airshows and take pictures and short videoclips from the show. So i'm definatly looking for a camera with a decent zoom. I know with digital cameras it takes a bit of getting to know your camera to know when you have to push the button to get the airplane on the picture (i have some great empty sky pictures to ).

Any one able to give me some advice ?

The fuji is cheaper, has higher zoom and has cheaper storage media so i'm wondering why is sony higher in price ? Does it has certain things that make i wurth the extra cost ?

regards

I'd have the fuji and it takes very good video clips too.

I have a Sony 707 I love it. The image quality is superb, and was worth the few dollars more.

With the 707/717 I have found that it either fits Your hand or it doesn’t there is little middle ground. If You like the feel of 717 in Your hand then it would be a very nice camera for You.

you said about having some nice sky pictures

i have the s602z

it has a mode called final five

this means you hold the shutter release button down and it starts fireing off the shutter and at the end of the 25 frames or whenever you let go off the button it saves the last five

sorry if my explanation of that is a bit wrong

but it also has 5 frame mode - shoots five frames which are saved to the memory buffer before being saved to the card
and a mode which can only be used in 1 megapixel mode which can shoot 40 frames max

hope this is a help

and even if you do get some empty sky shots i can bet you they will be high quality empty sky shots
