I'm not sure this question has been asked before, so I'll ask and see if there is an answer out there.

Can anyone say if Microsoft has plans to make viewing of raw files possible from within the operating system(not with third party software)? For example, a NEF file shows a thumbnail in My Pictures, but when you double click, it won't open. I understand this and am ok with it, I just wondered if maybe the next operating system might recognize raw files. Just wondering :roll:

Yes actually it is. I wonder if microsoft has any plans for making something like this part of their operating system? It would sure make life easier for digitally challenged people like myself lol!

You do know that you can download that software from Microsoft and install it on Windows, right?

Are you just pondering when they'll make such a feature standard (i.e. included with the OS when it ships)?

That's what I meant, yes. Who knows if that'll ever happen..:?
