Default What is the difference in Optical Zoom & Digital Zoom?

Optical zoom is "real" or "true" zoom. Elements or groups of elements within the lens shift to make the lens respond as more tele or more W/A.

Digital zoom takes the image you have and spreads it out, filling in the resulting gap with assumptions.
