Default For indoor portraits & closeups

Please some one help me to make selection between G3, C5050, Coolpix 5700 for indoor portraits and closeups.

You have good taste. Recommendtions are based on need. You need is indoor and hence less light. The Olympus has three items that should assist in your need.

1. F1.8 lens which will do very well for indoor shots.
2. Moveable LCD panel that should benefit in the portrait shooting.
3. Photo assist lamp to assist in low light conditions.

Phil loves his fast lenses, I love my big zoom. I'd have the 5700 for that zoom.

It's also had great press in most if not all areas.

For portraits I found 3x not enough for portraits.

One of the problems I find is the big DOF digicams provide even at their widest aperture. A long lens helps here. The greater the mag the less the DOF.

Remember a 3x zoom only magnifies about 2x
