Can't see much of his body, but I'll go with a crow. Head and bill are smoother than the illustrations of Ravens in my Sibley Guide. American Crows like to summer in Canada, too.

You might have to post this on a birding site to get anything authoritative, though.

When you say this country, do you include Western Canada?

Here is another picture, showing a bit more... This is all I have of it.

Sorry, bro'. I edited my reply when I noted that your location was Canada.

Just out of stubbornness I'll stick to the Crow answer. But, I'm just going by four illustrations in one book.

The answer lays in the size of the bird and the shape of its tail.

Unfortunately a Big Crow will be the size of a small Raven. The sure fire method is the tail IN Flight. A Crow keeps the tail narrow, while the Raven spreads theirs into a fan...

The bill is also smaller, but once again, that is on average. So based on the bill, I would say Crow, but only the tail in flight would confirm that...

Lol! Old Jim, that is the link I just looked at before I came and asked here.

Well I guess I will assume it's a crow then. That is what I posted on my blog, I didn't consider that it could be a Raven until somebody else mentioned it to me. Thanks for the help.
