On Saturday Oct 21, 2006 I placed an order with Http://www.thedigitalexpo.com. I

called and confirmed my order as per e-mail. I was than asked to buy a memory style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #999999"card and battery. When I declined the representative told me that the camera I'd ordered was refurbished and the new one would cost much more. I canceled the order and I went back to the web site and emailed receipt to see if I'd

missed something. I found no mention of "refurbished" anywhere. I then did what I

should have in the first place, I Googled them and found the posts on this site

(amongst others). I immediately contacted the credit card company and cancelled

the specific card number, just-in-case. They are sending me out a new one. I

don't know if it was necessary but it will allow me to sleep better.

Ordered Canon 630SD elph. Good price. NO WHERE was it mentioned it is a refurbished product. Received a phone call from them the next day to pressure me to buy memory and batteries, both horribly priced. No sale, so he confirmed my purchase of the refurb camera. I immedately told him to cancel the transaction.I had purchased a NEW camera. Not a refurb. He stated that the ad did not say it was a new camera. He offered to sell me a brand new one for a high price. No deal.
Lies and false advertizing. I will keep a close eye on my account.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY www.thedigitalexpo.com. [/b]THEY ONLY LIST THE REFURBISED PRICE. THEN THEY TRY TO SELL THE NEW ONE AT A MUST HIGHER PRICE. THEY DO NOT SAY ANYWHERE ON THIER WEB SITE THAT THE CAMERAS ARE REFURBISED .THE HAVE THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAVE TO CANCELL MY CREDIT CARD BECAUSE THEY WOULD NOT CONFIRMED THEY CANCELLED MY ORDER.

:PI joined this group just so I could reaffirm the warning against thedigitalexpo.com also known as the camera whiz. They are cheats, liars and frauds!! They go under several other names, too, so BUYER BEWARE! Check your sellors out better than I did!

It's the people like this that keep these AS****** in business. Tkae a risk in life? Please, I've been in the Army for 16 years and believe me, i take enough risks everyday for everyone on this forum. The last thing I need to do is take a risk on some well known scam artist just to try and save a buck when you actually pay more for the same thing.

It's time to wake up from your dreamland and come back to reality.

Hey I just about got hosed from this jerk, from www.thedigitalexpo.comI highly recommend not to purchase anything form this fool, I have alot of info including pictures of his so called store front, all 6 six of them. My wife had called to confirm the order and the guy tried to sell her more then we had ordered and the guy became angry and said, " go to hell bitch" before hanging up on her! Very very rude person.... I also had to cancel my credit card... notice there is not a return address, of any sort on the site.. We were also hung up on numerous times. These pepole make me sick, they need to get real jobs...

I am another in a long line of suckers. "Too good to be true" I found a Canon Powershot S3-IS for $258 plus shipping. Wow! That was great. I got the email about calling them to confirm my order and tried but could not reach them. This was on Friday afternoon. About 8pm tonight I get a call from a Starlight Camera. Looked it up and it is the place everyone is talking about. Same MO as well. Tried to upsell me batteries, SD card, etc. and when I refused he told me it was a refurb but I could get a new one for an inflated price. I told him I wanted to cancel the order. He curtly gave me a cancellation number and hung up. I have since talked to my credit card company. I have enough information to go on so I am not cancelling my card right now. I will let you know if they try to charge it. I have sent them an email confirming my cancellation, and cc myself. I have their cancellation number. The credit card company believes it is enough to go after them with. We shall see. I want to see this guy go down, and go down hard.

Post script. What has everyone else's experience been with this company weeks after placing their order? Thanks for your help. Let's all band to go after this dirty bag.

My wife tried to buy a canon sd 600 from www.thedigitalexpo.com. What a nightmare.

I called to confirm the sale for shipping as the receipt indicated and got a rude attendant trying to upsell me. I told him no upsale, ship the camera. He asked me if there was any reason she bought a "refurb" camera. I told him that I was on the website and there is no mention of refurb – cancel the sale. He replied with a "well see" and hung up on me. Had to cancel the credit card.

Contact the Brooklyn District Attys office and Canon USA if you want to do anything about it.
