Can anyone tell me if any camera manufacturer makes a digital SLR that also has a movie mode functon? I'm thinking of getting into DSLRs, but sure like the movie function of my digicam (S1IS). Perhaps there is something intrinsic to the design ofa digital single lens reflex camera that prohibits inclusion of a movie function???

You're right

-> It's called the mirror (as in reflex) which blocks the image and reflects it up to the viewfinder for you to see.

When your viewfinder goes dark the mirror is flipped out of the way temporary allowing the sensor to capture the image. Therefore most of the time the sensor is 'blinded' and can not capture continuous frame like in a movie...
