I have had this camera for 2 days..and in that time it has frozen about 5 times..where I had to remove the battery to get it to turn off. I have since reformatted my memory card.....and updated the firmware as per the advise of HP's online assistance.

Assuming the freezing is fixed (or at least something I can live with from time to time) has anyone had any success with recording audio? I have tried a few video clips and with the speaker turned up all the way you can barely hear people talking or sounds over the hiss. I have tried talking directly into the camera..and you can still barely make it out.

If I am going to record any video clips I would like to be able to hear something..but if people are talking in a normal voice..more than 1 foot away, then it wil not be audible. I had an HP 720..which was HUGE and terrible with batteries, but the sound in the video clips was fine. A person could be talking within several feet of the camera and it the clips would turn out fine.

Well I had a friend buy the same camera and the sound was terrible on his too. I went to the store I got it at...and the floor model was the same. The saleman (on my behalf) asked the HP Rep who was in this morning about it..and he said that is normal.

Looks like the sound is terrible on the leastwhen compared to the HP 720.
