Does anyone know if you can manually change the shutter speed on the 735 if so how?

You can't control shutter speed directly with your model.

However, if you need faster shutter speeds, you could try using the Scene Modes (i.e., Sports Mode should give you faster speeds).

You could also try AperturePriority Mode (your model lets you select between two different Aperture Choices). If you select a larger aperture (represented by a smaller f/stop number), then the camera's autoexposure will use faster shutter speeds. If you select a smaller aperture (represented by the higher f/stop number), then the camera will use slower shutter speeds.

Another way to influence shutter speeds is by manually setting the ISO speed. Each time you double the ISO speed, the camera can use shutter speeds twice as fast. However, increasing ISO speed will increase noise (similar to film grain). One good product to reduce it is Noiseware (available from http://www.imagenomic.com), and they have a community version that is free.
