Default HP 850

I am interested to find some photos, other than the ones that are found at:
http://www.pbase.com/mekis/hp_photosmart_850
if anyone knows where some sample pics can be found, by all means let us know.....I think that this will be an awesome camera, when considering the features along with the zoom, not to mention the fact that HP is a new company (HP + Compaq). I am excited to see what they have created, and expect to buy one before the end of the year!

We are in-process with our HP850 camera review. Right now we are digging our way through a pile of new Fujis and the HP850 will follow in a week or so.

Hello

I too am keen to know more about the HP 850 particularly the lens which is a:

Lens System Fiji Photo Optical CO Ltd., Autofocus, 8x Optical Zoom 7.6 - 61mm, F2.8 3.1

Copy pasted from HP site. HP have used lens by Pentax, a top brand. I have never heard of the 'Fiji' outfit! Is it a typo, should it be Fuji?

Thanks

Yes, "Fiji" is a typo for "Fuji" (actually "Fujinon"). Appears to be a stretched version of the lens used on the Fuji S602, which is quite a nice lens. There is some moire visible in the last two shots in the pbase gallery mentioned above, though.

When will the 850 be available in the UK?

Anyone know?

Steve, a more frequent presence on this forum from you would be most welcome.

Your message in this thread was posted last month.

What are you waiting for Steve to tell you? He published the review. He's in Florida (I think), not the UK, so he probably can't tell you where to get the camera there.

I was just making a general observation that he wasn't around.
