Hi all,

I just bought an HP Photosmart R707, it's a great first digital camera !

I wanted to buy an High Speed memory card (SANDISK UltraII, or KINGSTON Elite Pro), but someone told me there will be no difference between a standard memory card and an High Speed mem, and that the HP R707 is not compatible with those ones.:?

Is it true ?

Is there anybody who have an High SPeed Memory card with his r707 ?

Thanks a lot.

PS: HAPPY NEW YEAR !:|

I don't think the R707 will be any faster with the high speed card. Best to stick with normal Sandisk cards.

^^^ Exactly, Hp says there stuff will work with ur every day card anythin highspeed isn't supported if it works great but if it acts up down the road there will be no support for it and it will be suggested to use a normal non highspeed card..

Hi ! A few months later...

Well, I'm using a SANDISK ULTRA II mem card for 10months, and it works !
The hi-speed capabilities are unsupported in writting mode. I mean the R707 don't write the photo quicker... the a-bit-longer-time is due to the R707 and not because of the card itself.
But, the hi-speed capabilities are appreciable in reading mode (a lot quicker)
and when downloading the pictures to the computer.
Another advantage is the 10years guarantee

Good to hear it works, yeah most of them will work for reading purpose but writing is the big bonus when it comes to high speed media.. specially when it comes to raw format which files are extremely huge!!!!

Some of the cheaper cardbrands do not record the video smoothly. I have had a problem with a couple of them, and the same card brand reacts the same in eachcamera when used for video. I have three of the 707 cameras .
