I really think that focus assit lamps are importand for any digicam, because they help you focus in low light situations.

I bought a r607 because steve mentions in his review that it DOES have a focus assist lamp.

Quote from Steve´s review:

" Its AF system was fast and accurate, and thanks to its focus-assist lamp, you should have no problems focusing in low-ambient lighting conditions. "

I got my 607 and i just cant find the option to turn it on. I have taken pics in low and very low light situations and I dont see ANY lamp light coming out of the camera`s front.

Am I misunderstanding something? Or is the review inacurate and the r607 has NO focus assist lamp?

Thanks!

suppafly-

I do not own the HP R607, however, it is my understanding that it does not have an low light level focus assist lamp.

I wont trust steve´s reviews anymore. This is a pretty big mistake! Maybe he does copy-paste from one camera´s review to another review...

And now I spent $199 in a camera I dont like and cant return to the store...

thanks for your help
