Default Hp 720 - is it really 3.3 MP, or actually its 1.8 MP

I've heard that the HP 720 is not a real 3.3 MP but its 1.8 MP with software that enlarges the picture to 2048 X 1536 from half of it.

Does any of you heard about it? knows something about it?

Im really troubled about it, especially that I already bought the camera

Please answer soon.
Thanks,
Goldschmidt, S

You can read my review here:

It does have a 3mpixel sensor, believe me if it didn't we certainly would have mentioned that fact.

Exactly

The HP 720 has a 1/1.8" CCD 3 MP.

Before my HP 850 I had a HP 720. You can see pics here : http://photos.chatterie-koolkat.com (in french... 100 pics taken with HP 720, others with HP 850...)

Good Point & shoot digital camera (thanks to Steve having convince me last year to buy HP 720 )
