Nice but maybe a little dark/flat - the top quarter of the histogram is hardly used.

I loaded your picture it into my program (I do with just about everything) and the histogram is quite striking. You can see all of the red for the truck is quite dark and confined to a narrow range. The problem may be that the software wants to maintain the high saturation of the red which means it can't lighten or darken it much without it washing out a bit. Maybe there is a setting in your software to relax that a bit - I can post my version if you like or if you say what software you're using then someone else who has it can advise.

The histogram from your version:

As this is only the 2nd hdr Ive ever posted, you, rightly can see Im an amateur at this.

I do welcome comments and help. Ive got a lot to learn and I just basically manipulate the settings until I myself am pleased with the result.

Go ahead and show us another version, Martin

Working from your processed version as I don't have the original, this has a bit more 'pop' which I prefer on the truck. There are some halos in the sky on the original which this has exagerated a bit too much but you get the idea.

And the histogram below shows it uses more of the whole range and the reds aren't so constrained (although they are a bit less saturated as a side effect). I'm sure you can get the same effect in your software if that's what you want.

Thanks Martin, heres another version I made, but I decided it looked a bit too "cartoonish"

Yeah, the reds are a bit too much but it's not too hard to tone them down a bit - there's nothing wrong with doing a bit of tweaking in paintshop after Photomatix or whatever has finished:

Honestly I like the cartoonish one the best. I shoot fire and rescue stuff a lot and that to me looks to be the most spot on for what colors I would expect to see in real life......
