Another try

Okay you guys have me looking for something to try out another HDR. On the way home today I spotted this small house and had to turn around go back an snap three quick shots (after setting up the tripod that is). Does HDR make sense in black and white?

I still have not made the commitment to buy Photomatix but am getting closer.

Here is my process:

1) Original shot middle exposure converted from Raw to jpg in Photoshop but not edited.


2) Convert three raw files in Photomatix


3) Sharpened in Photoshop and decreased the yellows -did not sharpen as much as the shed - hopefully a more realistic look



4) Wanted to try a b/w conversion in PS


5) while I was there I wanted to try a tinted version too - I must just enjoy playing around...


I apologize for the watermarks but I am still using the Photomatix trial.

Any comments and suggestions are welcome.

Nothing wrong with your b&w - there's been times when some of my hdr pictures have looked better in b&w. I like your third one - it looks very natural. Also, your sepia one is fun. Looks like you're getting a pretty good handle on how to process them.

Thanks. My wife said she likes the sepia one. It is fun to play around.
