Belly of the Sliding Beast

This was a very difficult shot. The City Musuem is a unique place in St. Louis. Use to be a shoe factory. This photo was taken in an area of metal stairs and slides. Both children and adults climb up the stairs and then slide down. There is also a pipe organ which is very loud and creates vibration. Climbing up metal stairs and sliding down metal slides adds to the vibration factor. Plus this area is very dark. Trying to get a 15 second exposure was challenging. I was there for a hour and managed to take 5 exposures that I felt were vibration free and sharp. When I reviewed the photos, only 1 escaped the wrath of movement. 1 RAW image was converted into 3 Tiffs. Dynamic Photo HDR was the finishing touch...

Thank You. I have cameras. It all depends on the duration and location. I like to walk around in the city and the majority of times my equipment is usually a tripod, Lumix FX500, and another P&S (in the process of replacing my Sony with another Lumix or Ricoh). If I drive to certain locations (parks, state parks, key locations in the city) my equipment is modified. Tripod, DSLR, and P&S. The above shot was taken with an Olympus DSLR. The Old Courthouse was taken with a Lumix TZ5. Cameras are just half of the battle in the digital age. One should always balance his/her budget to include adequate software...
