After Bynx'es great church-pictures, I am now concerned that this thread is going into 'oblivion' (speak: second page) and will be forgotten soon, if we do not update.

I think we cannot count on Simple Simon for a while - according to the calendar he must be a first-time dad by now, and will have other priorities on his mind, and HDR is not one of them. Let's hope that everything went well and 'according to plan' in the simple-family - if ever there is a plan with important happenings like these!

Anyway - I just want this thread to stay on page 1 for a while, so I'll post som HDR's for you to criticise and comment - o.k. ?

here we have 2 different renderings of the same motive:

#1 is what I call the real HDR-rendering with the DETAIL ENHANCER-methode (DetEn)- while #2 is another way of doing it with the TONE COMPRESSOR (TC). All this is with PhotomatixPro.

The last picture shows the middle exposure of the HDR-renderings, which - in this case - only consist of 3 exposeres with: -1EV, 0EV and +1EV

#1 - (DetEn)

#2 - (TC)

And finally the original, middle exposure:

lovely HDR Walter...The DE HDR is very nice.
I wonder what happened to the TC one. Why is the sky all blown out? You couldn't save that at all I presume? That was too bad. But still, no complaints.
Nice colors and subtle HDR but still eye catching as a HDR should be.

I hope that I'll get a HDR subject soon too

I too prefer the first shot. Nothing to complain about it. Good job.

Today I visited the former estate of the founder of General Motors. Like most of the residences of the rich and famous of days gone by, the property was taken over by the City of Oshawa to be run as a tourist site. It was a dismal day, but I was in Oshawa anyway so I thought I may as well drop in and take a look around.

Lovely shots Bynx! Especially the trees. The texture is just...oh yeah!
I suspect you had some difficult lightning? All the pics. got some kind of color cast, as if they're to warm.
But that doesn't really make them worse. Looks really cozy.
Great job.

Nice place and picks, but I agree with Acapulco. Somewhat dark and redish.

I know that this isn't much of a HDR, but still. The details IMO is kinda nice.

Made out of 3 shots.

Made out of 6 shots.

In your first shot I cant see how you would need any more than 1 shot. There doesnt seem to be any highlights or shadow. Nice clear picture though. The details in the cement of the well is pretty good. And I like the green lichen.
This is the GM Centre in Oshawa. Home of the Oshawa Generals and the place I saw The Blue Man Group last week.
