Default First HDR's

Okay with the snow today, I decided to play around with the Hydra plug in for aperture today. These were of photos I took on Monday.

i really like 2 3 6 but to me they seem to be lacking some punch for hdr?

It could be, never tried hdr before. But looking form the original I do see the difference. think I will try the photomatrix plug in next time it snows and see how it compare. I did not to any tone mapping as it was not an option with hydra. Think allot of hdr have the tone mapping done giving them the really wild punch.

I would say the HDR versions are lacking in saturation. You could try increasing that.
A method that works for me in some situations, is to make a copy of the HDR and then layer it on top of the original, using luminosity only mode. This brings up the brightness without losing the saturated colors. Often it is too much and I make another layer using the hue and saturation mode. Adjusting the opacity to suit in each case.
