Default HDR Locomotive

This one was a challenge. Couldn't get back far enough to include the entire subject in one shot, so had to do a 3-shot panorama. Subject was extremely contrasty, so had to shoot 3 of each for HDR. Total of nine images. Did the HDR thing on the left, centre, and right, then used PS Photomerge to stitch them together.

This, in my opinion, is exactly what HDR is for. Not to make an unreal image, but to more effectively show what the photographer saw in the first place.

Very nicely done.

Thanks, Barbarian. I agree about HRD being overused. Seems to be the "technique du jour", and most examples I see look better without it.
