Default HDR Beach Hut

Hi All,
First post - I've gleaned much useful information from this forum so,
first off, I'd like to say thanks!

I've just discovered HDR photography in the past week or two - it's
opened a whole new avenue of photography for me!

Anyway, these are my first attempts with Photomatix. I realise I've made
the classic beginner's mistake of maxing out the sliders but, hey,
subtlety can come later.

To be honest, I took the pictures before discovering HDR so a ran a shot
through 'Silkypix' and saved it at +/-2 to get three pics.
I'm now going to do it the 'proper' way with bracketed exposures and see
if I can make out a difference.

I don't understand it.
We seek and search and hope to find cameras and lenses that produce good true colors and then along comes HDR and makes otherwise nice photo's look painted. None of the colors seem anywhere near realistic.

What am I missing?

Youre missing so much. No sense explaining it to you. You would never understand.

Ha ha ha ha , Chilllllll out guys.

I love the huts, on my small laptop screen its a bit cropped and does not show the part hut on the right and to me it looks brilliant like that.
Like the van as well, It's great you found something to fire you up with this new avenue of adventure.
I like all this playing about with the images as it adds a whole new dimention and range of possibilities, also If yor stuck indoors a lot it gives hours of fun and new possibilities playing about with the pics on the computer.

Bynx, that new avitar is great, like the finger.

Glad you like it condorman. It was either the finger or holding a 45 automatic. The 45 looked too violent for most of the people here. Whats a finger between friends.
