Default Just 6 days in between..

..the two shots, but two totally different landscapes and moods. It's the same place, roughly taken from the same position. Unintentionally I came back 6 days later to shoot the docks in sunshine and as the fog came rolling in, due to a weather-change, without regards of the first shot.

This was an early morning shot on January 12th 2011 with snow on the dock.
Shot with Tokina 11-16mm and Nikon D300s

Shot with Nikkor 16-85mm ED VR and Nikon D300s:
6 days later, on January 18th the sun came out and thawed most of the snow away. At the same time, the fog came rolling in from the sea, coming up the Sound and covering most of the background, including det sun.

I was going "bananas" with my D300s...

Remember when doing a shot of days to make some form of same spot marker it will really have an effect on the series as well as your own feelings... Lord its like the weather is going through some kind of Schizophrenia faze.. can't make up its own mind weather to stay with snow or warm the place up... I like them both but I really love the warm feeling in # 2.

SSG - As I wrote initially in my 1st line of text on top: Unintentional!!

It was not a planned series to come back 6 days later (how was I to know how the weather would turn...?) to shoot at exactly the same spot. It just happend that I went down again to the docks to shoot the incoming fog, the second time.

Anyway, the first dock was shot with an supe wideangel lens - Tokina 11-16mm, while the second dock was shot with my Nikkor 16-85mm ED VR - so there is no comparison intendet, whatsoever!

I was merely stating the change in weather and how the weather affects moods and light.
See?

Hi Walter,

Both images have are great compositions. But the 2nd image really is beautiful.

What a difference the weather and light make - totally different feelings to the shots. Both have their merits but the second one really is special.
