Default Industrial Compound In HDR

In my opinion, HDR is tailormade for Industrial Compounds with it's scrubby, dirty environment, underlining it's roughness. Here is one of those, in which case I use HDR further "down the line" then I usually do.

These here are the remains of an old derelict shipyard where they used to build big ships until the late seventies, after which most shipowners ordered new ships to be buildt i Japan and as a result, local Norwegian shipyards had to close down. Demands for higher wages and strong labour unions killed the goose which had laid golden eggs for the local community for so long...

This one here was a "cornerstone" company for this town, and approx. 1500 men had to find another job...

An interesting interpretation. It's not "pretty" but then, you didn't mean it to be pretty (topic isn't a pretty one). The more extreme processing does seem to add something to the subject, it's very appropriate. I like how this came out.

Thank you, mtngal, for your kind comment. It's not a "winner"-picture. I just wanted to show how appropriate HDR sometimes is for showing rough objects / scenes, as Tone Mapping seems to bring out some otherwise hidden contrasts and details.

Have a nice week-end!

Best regards,
Walter
