Default Its a Doozy!

For the next few days the Lyon Air Museum at John Wayne Airport here in Orange County is featuring 10 beautiful Duesenberg automobiles from the 1920s and 1930s. Only about 150 are still in existence, considered at the time to be the most beautiful automobiles in the world. They were also very fast and very expensive. A Ford cost $400. A "Doozy" could cost over $20,000 (during the Depression).

Typically, a buyer would purchase the engine and chassis from the company and have it shipped to a body builder for a custom designed body. Here is a 1933 convertible.

Ive never seen metal and rubber formed into a more beautiful configuration. Especially, the '29 convertible. I even love the paint job.

Walter C

Nice natural shots - and I particularly like the 2nd car.

Well done!
