Default The wooden pier

Unlike our local concrete pier -- which had to be rebuilt after a big storm in the early Eighties -- the Newport Beach pier (next town South) is made of wood, but only about half as long.

Thanks, Martin. Yes, that's always the challenge where you have fast-moving waves -- plus the possibility that a gull or two will fly into the shot.
