I think this was -2,0,+2 with my 7D and 40/2.8

Very clean and well-composed. Just a touch of haloing, but only someone looking to nitpick would notice it. (Yeah, me)

Thanks - yeah, I noticed it too but no matter how I moved the sliders I couldn't seem to get them to lessen any more than they are right now. I wonder if this is just a deficiency of Photomatix Essentials opposed to their Pro version. Hard to 'fess up the upgrade cost though unless I know for certain that it'll clean up the final images much more.

Before you do, download Luminance for free, and play with it. I use it a lot, and although it has a learning curve to get over, it's immensely flexible and useful.
